During Super Bowl LI Week in Houston, Texas, Lemonade Day had the distinguished honor of being recognized at the 8th annual Big Game, Big Give charity event.
The Big Game, Big Give charity event is an annual fund raiser for The Giving Back Fund, a national nonprofit organization that provides expert philanthropic consulting and management services to professional athletes, business entrepreneurs, existing nonprofits, corporations, and others who truly desire to give back.
Each year at this event, The Giving Back Fund recognizes top philanthropic organizations around the country, donating to them proceeds from the evening.
This year Lemonade Day was selected as the principal recipient. Lemonade Day was in great company with other recipients including: The Giving Back Fund, Epidermyloses Bullosa Medical Research Foundation (EB MFR), International Rescue Committee, Michael Phelps Foundation, The Rape Foundation, Children’s Mercy Kansas City, and Common Ground Foundation.
The star-studded Houston event, hosted by Academy Award nominee, Josh Brolin, was held at the estate of Lemonade Day founder and his wife, Lisa and Michael Holthouse, and emceed by actor, David Schwimmer.
This prestigious recognition is a testament to all the great work Lemonade Day has done to teach children around the country the importance of entrepreneurship and making a difference in their communities.
“We are grateful to The Giving Back Fund for starting our year off strong and allowing us to continue creating opportunities to teach our youth how to start and run their own business through a lemonade stand,” said Steven Gordon, president of Lemonade Day. “While the proceeds will go a long way in our pursuit of developing more activities and programs to support our mission, we still have a lot of work to do in getting our message out nationwide and we appreciate all the support we receive from our generous donors to get it done.”
